WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)
WIC is a health and nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children under five years of age. The program provides a combination of nutrition education, supplemental foods, breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care. Breastfeeding
A mother’s breast milk is the best food to help her baby grow strong and stay healthy. The WIC program offers mothers help with breastfeeding questions and problems. WIC may even provide a breast pump for the mother’s use. Breastfeeding moms will continue to receive a food package for up to one year.
A mother who is breastfeeding full time may receive:
| 5 ½ gallons milk | 7 cans juice | 4 cans tuna |
| 3 pounds cheese | 36 oz cereal | 2 pounds carrots |
| 2 dozen eggs | 18 oz peanut butter or 16 oz dried beans/peas | |
A mother who is breastfeeding part time may receive:
5 ½ gallons milk
6 cans juice
2 pounds cheese
36 oz cereal
2 dozen eggs
18 oz peanut butter or 16 oz dried beans/peas

Nutrition Education
You may complete your nutrion education online at http://www.wichealth.org/. If you haven’t already created an account, click on the “Create a new account” link and be sure to remember your username and password for your next education session. After you have finished, call your local WIC office and let them know so that they can add benefits onto your card.
Project Fresh
Currently, we have a limited amount of Project Fresh coupons available. These are coupons that can be used at your local farmers market for fresh fruits and vegetables. Please call your local WIC office to see if you are eligible for Project Fresh.
